We were on our way home from work when we saw Ale thumbing a ride. God said, "Pick him up."

After we picked Ale up, we found out he was a schoolteacher from Italy on holiday. He was touring Texas and on his way to the Alabama and Coushatta Indian Reservation. We lived across the highway from the Reservation.

We offered to drop him off on the Reservation. Our Lord said, "invite him to dinner." It was the day before payday and we had 2 cans of pork N beans and one small potato. Again Jesus said, "invite him to dinner." I invited Ale to dinner.

When we got home, I gave our son David a piece of bread and told him to go get 5 fish out of the lake across from our house. Ale decided he would go watch this.  David sat in the edge of the lake with the bread between his legs. One at a time 5 catfish swam up and David tossed them on the bank where Ale grabbed them.

While Al cleaned the fish, I was pealing a small potato & cutting it into fries while asking God to multiply it.  Jesus multiplied the potatoes as I put them in a 12-inch oil filled skillet.  I fried the fish and heated the beans. We had leftovers.

See Ale’s Pepperonata  under salads for the rest of the Story.
