Due to proximity of location and dates, there are several
McCrciry tnrnn who might have descended from Lhi.s group. in searching for this prospects, several characteristics would have to be apparent: l)they would have been born between 1809 and the late 1820’s; 2)they would have to have settled in areas close to south central and western Mississippi; 3) they could not be tied closely tO me other Ncuiury residing in other areas of Alabama or Mississippi during this same time, and 41 they would not appear in any records (for these locations}prior to the early 1830’s.The following list includes information about McCrory

Aleihama Mccrorys durini this first half of the j9th centuryDuring this same period other Mccrory families are found
living in the hale and Greene County areas. There are
possibly three hrotflers: is~iac,
WiliidlLL, and thigh.Offspring of these families included a Thomas and a John.
These families are reported (by research of Jim t4cCrory and
others) to have relocated from North Carolina to Alabama

snpar~te ¼nd records in the vicintyof Hale and Greene to support this contention.
Additionally, census data contemporaneous to data for the
Butler courtLy NcCrorys, indicate these McCrorys are
distinctly ditterent set of families. While the Lancaster
Hugh, John, and Thomas appear in t e ancas er, ~
-census, the Hale/Greene Mccrorys are listed in the 1830
Alabama Census. No ties have been found which link the
families in Hale/Greene County with those in Butler County.
