Prior to 1900, the McCorys will found in Butler rather than Wilcox County. William Patrick McCrory applied for a pension from Wilcox County. The application states that he was wounded at Franklin TN. He has a military service file with Co. "C", 7th Alabama Cavalry. Members were drawn from Butler, Montgomery and Pike Counties.

Thomas Milton McCrory married Mary Elizabeth Byrd in Butler County in 1864. He was a memebr of the 6th Alabama Cavalry and applied for a pension from Butler County. Another man named Thomas McCrory married Frances Beverly about 1855.

You may be asking about a man who appears on the 1860 census of Butler County. He's reported simply as E. McCrory, born about 1831 in South Carolina. I don't a military record in his name.
